RESEARCHING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASSICAL SCHOOL OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT IN THE COMPANIES OF THE PRIMORSKO-GORANSKA COUNTY Prethodno priopćenje The process of strategic management, as the core research agenda in strategic management, is looked upon in a contradictory and disperse manner by both scientists and managers. Their approach to this process varies in the choice of crafting numerous combinations, suggestions and offering recipes for successful strategy implementation. Beside that, there are different approaches towards the development of strategic management discipline. Schools of strategic management, especially classical school of strategic management, attempt to synthesize those ideas and thoughts that are common to the initial stage of the strategic management discipline. Theoretical characteristics of classical school of strategic management are presented by representatives who participated in shaping the strategic management as a new discipline.
