THE COMPARISON OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE MANUFACTURING AND SERVICE COMPANIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA

The aim of this paper is to analyse the extent to which companies in the Republic of Croatia are socially responsible and what are the reasons to use certain dimensions of social responsibility in their business. In addition, the paper seeks to determine whether the practice of corporate social responsibility is more attractive to manufacturing or service companies in the Republic of Croatia. The theme of the paper is processed through a theoretical presentation and the appearance, including the written and institutional regulators of the social responsibility. In the study a special emphasis was placed on the, previously mentioned, dimensions which can be divided into internal, external and environmental protection, including their components as the most important evaluation criteria of social responsibility in the Croatian companies. Analysing and comparing the data obtained in the study, showed that the manufacturing and service companies from the Croatian practice are equally socially responsible and that, therefore, the social responsibility of the whole country is at a high level.
