STRATEGIC ASPECTS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION IN THE WORLD AND CHALLENGES OF CROATIAN ECONOMY Pregledni rad Efficient strategic systems enable to companies the implementation of long-term business goals and activities by the help of which these goals can be realized. A sphere of their activity is a longer time period in which it is very important to be able to foresee future necessities of buyers and future market trends. Therefore, strategic systems change very often the goals of business operation, business processes, products and concepts of organizational relations with environment, the purpose of which is the achievement of advantages before competitors. Strategic systems support external and internal strategic initiatives. It is evident that majority of domestic companies does not have the necessary level of excellence to hold with foreign competition. The situation will surely worsen in this sphere when we join the so desirable European and vvorld associations.
